South Lombok Surf Information

1	Desert Point	Dry	Left	It is indeed one of the longest, makeable lefthand barrels ont the planet. For expart only.
2	Belongas	Wet	Right & Left	There's a left on the E side and a right on the W side, both usually working best during wet season. Boat access is better way to get there.
3	Mawi	Dry	Right & Left	If Gerupuk is too small, Mawi is really good size such as a Head High. 40 min drive from Kuta area.
4	Mawun	Wet	Right & Left	Not constant. If other points are getting bigger, it works. Very beautiful beach. Good for picnic and snorkelling.
5	Air Guling	Wet	Right & Left	30 mim boat access from Kuta. Short, mid to high tide lefts and a fast inside barrel on the low tide rights.
6	Kuta & Segar	Dry Wet	Right & Left	Most of accomodations and restaurants are in Kuta. Pantai Segar is a small swell, wind sensitive, fun righthander, plus occasional left. Walk able from "Novotel" Beach Resort. Also "Sea Urchin" point. "Hati-Hati"
7	Tanjung Ann Gerupuk	Dry Wet	Right & Left	Tanjung Ann is a most beautiful beach in Lombok. Two peaks can be seen from the roadside. Gerupuk is often the main attraction in South Lombok Surf Scene. Our "Lakuen" Bungalow is located this beautiful bay front. Two peaks can be seen from our place.
8	Ekas	Dry Wet	Right & Left	It takes 40 min Kuta to Awang by car, then 40 min Awang to Ekas by boat. The Inside Ekas rights lack power, but can peel perfectly with the offshore tradewinds. Outside Ekas can seem chaotic, but the best rides are long with fast hollow walls.
9	Labuhan Haji	Wet	Right	It needs some specific wet season conditions to deliver fun waves on the different reefs south of the village.

The "Gerupuk"

I would say most consistant surf point on the planet.

"Gerupuk Bay" has 5 surf points and all points have own style of break and size.

Each point can be reached by small outrigger boat from village in 10 to 15 min.

Inside or Bumbang Bay

 

One of most consistant surf break point in the world. Main season is Dry season, however it's good in Wet season, too. Under head high wave, beautiful A flame break, can be riden right & left. Over head high, righthand only. Mellow and peaceful wave heaven.

 

 

Outside or Gili Golong

 

Best season is Wet Season. It has 4 break sections. Each section has different type of break. High tide is better because of shallow reefs.

 

 

Kame or Don Don

 

When Inside point gets over head, it starts breaking. Beautiful A frame break. It can be seen from "Lakuen" Bungalow.

 

 

Kodomo Point

 

If there is wave at Don Don, also Kodomo point has break. Smallest point in Gerupuk Bay. However this point is a little bit tricky and shallow. Mid tide is best condition.

 

 

Outside Left

 

Farest and uncrowded point in bay. Very shallow and not really good wave. But still rideable lefthand break.
